Guys, this Rockport Engagement Session. What a saga. We rescheduled Jen & Joseph’s original engagement session date due to summer thunderstorms. We had our new date picked out already and were good to go. I pull into the beach parking lot we’re meeting at a little before 6:30pm on a Monday. It. Is. Mobbed. Hardly any space left on the beach. Umm, what the heck people?! Not great social distancing either I have to say. We decide to try beach option 2. They’ve got the entrance closed saying it’s full…great. Drive to another small nearby beach and there isn’t even an area to park. Find another one up the road and still tiny and fairly full. Kind of freaking out and we’re losing light. AH! I mention a spot I’ve used before as a last resort. It’s beautiful but involves a bit of walking but we really don’t have any spare time to figure anything else out. We park and decide to just stick to one outfit.
We found some really lovely light to start our session in at the start of the trail and BAM. They are already killing it. Joseph was definitely a little bit nervous about this session to begin with but he did great immediately. We moved on and just headed straight for the ocean. It’s a very rocky, zero sand kind of beach but they were totally fine climbing the rocks. In fact I think Joseph definitely loved that part 😂 The sun was setting beautifully and they effortlessly giggled and put themselves in some really cute poses with no instruction. They were a dream and so adorable and we made some really quick magic because of that. We ended with a few piggy back ride photos because I just love those.
After all that and almost considering rescheduling again, they gave me a birthday gift! They are the absolute sweetest! They are actually both teachers. Joseph is a special education teacher and Jen teaches 3rd grade AND dance!! They met just about 3 years ago on a blind date set up by their friend’s parents at Rail Trail Flatbread. Last August he brought Jen back to Rail Trail and proposed. He got the restaurant to open a half hour early and had the table where they first met all set up with photos and champagne 🙂 The rest is history! I’m really looking forward to seeing these 2 again next summer for their wedding.
