Massachusetts Beach Wedding: Kathryn & Pat

Kathryn & Pat are so fun! They had a little elopement, just the two of them this August. They were another 2020 couple effected by Covid. They planned to get married at Olio in Peabody this past April. They postponed until August, but ultimately decided to elope this year and have their big party next year.

I got to go to their adorable apartment on the North Shore and start the day with details, my fave! Patrick got ready at their place and then headed out so Kathryn could get ready without him seeing. Kathryn had a big lovely twirly gown that looked perfect on her! She invited her cousin to come by and help her get into her dress, an important detail to think about if you’re thinking of eloping! It was not something Kathryn could have done herself!

Sarah, the owner of Olio, still let Kathryn & Pat have their little ceremony there. Just the two of them over by the huge windows with Priscilla, the officiant. Pat waited up front facing the wall for a walk down the aisle first look. Kathryn walked up the stairs to the venue and the realization of what was about to happen hit her. She started to tear up but composed herself once she got to the start of the “aisle.” She started walking towards Pat and we had him turn around when she got about half way to him. He had the biggest heart eyes! 😍 So sweet! They had their ceremony, had a little champagne and practiced their first dance for their big wedding next year.

We took some portraits at Olio before heading out to get ice cream at Treadwells. They were planing to have them cater dessert at the wedding so instead we went to them. The videographer, Felipe, was so nice and went ahead to order their ice cream for them so it would be ready when they got there! As you can imagine, everyone was looking, honking and congratulating them!

It was time to end the day with some epic beach portraits. We went to a beach in Beverly, right near the college I attended! We got some gorgeous summer sunset light and popped champagne on the beach to end their perfect, intimate day! I’m so happy I got to hang out with Kathryn & Pat last year, this year AND next year!
