What’s better than a mountain top wedding in the fall people?? Pretty much nothing! Tara and Patrick‘s Loon Mountain Wedding landed on the most gorgeous September day. Back home in MA the fall foliage wasn’t peaking at all yet. As I drove up to Loon Mountain, it just got brighter and brighter! And IT WAS WARM! I’m not someone who loves fall mostly because I prefer to be warm. But man was it pretty. And I didn’t even have to wear my sweater at the top of the mountain! Bonus!
The day started with everyone getting ready at the resort. It’s so great when everyone is already near where the wedding is going to be. It is just a quick drive from the resort accommodations to the base of the mountain. The cool part about getting married on top of the mountain is the getting to the top part! You have to take the gondola up! It’s about a 15 minute ride up that you need to plan for but it’s a nice little break from the wedding day craziness.
Loon has this awesome overlook where they’ve built amphitheater type seating with an epic view of New Hampshire’s White Mountains. It was unbelievably gorgeous in the fall. With Tara & Patrick’s friends and family all gathered on top of Loon, Tara’s dad walked her down the aisle. These two, who have known each other since childhood were finally married!
Of course mountain top portraits were a must before taking the gondola back down for the reception. Tara’s much younger sister gave a really sweet speech about looking up to her as a kid which had everyone tearing up a bit during toasts. Tara & Patrick’s first dance was so sweet, right into an open dance floor with DJ Matt pumping everyone up! Loon also has a nice outdoor space with a bonfire for everyone to enjoy. Great for a fall night outside! Wishing you two all the best in life!
