Revere Hotel Rooftop Wedding: I love Leigh & Eric! I’ve known Leigh for a really long time, she’s my friends older sister. To be honest I don’t even want to do the math there but it’s been very long time. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone she was ever dating, so back in December 2017, at a black and white themed party, I was dancing and noticed Leigh was over there aways chatting with a cute guy. For hours. All I could think was I hope Leigh goes out with his guy, they’re adorable together. Leigh didn’t even want to go to this party but our friend Becky bought her ticket anyways and forced her to go. Apparently Eric even left the party at one point and then talked himself into going back out. They could have NEVER MET!
So yeah, I was there the day they met 🙂 They ended up spending six weeks apart at the start of the pandemic. They decided they never wanted to do that ever again and moved in together. Two cats, “Bunny” and “Kevin” (they also have a bunny too now) and a Valentine’s Day proposal later, they decided to have a little Boston ceremony.
When I met them in the lobby of the Revere Hotel Eric said he was on YouTube for days trying to figure out how to tie a bowtie. He was still struggling. We asked the concierge at the hotel and he didn’t know how to either. He even tried to find someone in the hotel who did but had no luck. We decided to start portraits sans bowtie for now. We got dropped off in the Boston Public Garden and got started. Ten minutes in Leigh decided to just ask this random man walking by if he knew how to tie a bowtie AND HE DID! So he tied it on himself and then put it over Eric’s head. Turned out he was also staying at the Revere Hotel so Leigh & Eric invited him and his daughter up for a drink. Well, the ceremony got bumped back a little because of a transportation issue so when they got up there they got to watch the whole ceremony!
Eric is a total Marvel nerd. Their friend married them and he was hilarious. They surprised Eric with The Infinity Gauntlet during the ceremony, which Leigh just kept calling “Iron Man’s Hand.” And he related all the infinity stones to marriage, it was awesome. They both mentioned that black-and-white party in their vows and high-fived after their kiss. I know they’re my friends and I’m biased but it was maybe my favorite ceremony ever. I got to stay and celebrate with them too on the rooftop. Such a cool space with perfect weather for our first mask-free event with friends!
