Caswell Farm Wedding: Mallory & Mike

I’m so happy I got to be a part of Mallory & Mike’s Caswell Farm Wedding! Mallory was a close friend of mine growing up in middle school & high school. We frequented many school dances and trips to Chilis together. So when she reached out last year about family photos I was really excited to see her again! It was as if no time had passed. Scroll to the bottom for a senior year of high school flashback pic!

Mallory & Mike were already engaged when I took their family photos. They were supposed to get married in 2020 and had to reschedule. Mallory reached out to me a few months later saying she loved their family photos so much that they wanted me to photograph their wedding, even though they had already hired a photographer. I’ve never been so flattered! Of course I would do it! It’s so awesome to capture a friend’s big day!

These two met online, but they almost went to the same college! It’s like the universe really wanted them to meet so it gave them a second chance to. They would drive 2 hours to see each other every other weekend until Mike got a job closer to Mallory and her son Layton. One of my favorite things about meeting Mike was seeing how much Layton looks up to him and how much Mike adores Layton. They have the sweetest relationship. Mallory & Mike also have a little girl named Zaylee together and she’s the chattiest, cutest little thing. And Layton loves her too. I just really love this family ok??

This wedding had all the gorgeous boho vibes. From Mallory’s hair-wrapped do, to her rainbow wildflower bouquet and handmade hanging flower installation, this wedding was a bohemian dream. All the details and the thought put into everything was so perfectly them.
The day started out a sunny and hot July day. Of course it sprinkled when the processional was supposed to start, but we waited it out and got the perfect outdoor ceremony. Then we managed to get all the photos done just in time for it to absolutely downpour. And I mean really really downpour. The DJ had to move their stuff farther into the tent because it was raining sideways and a handful of children decided it would be fun to run out and get soaked. But it slowed down eventually, everyone got introduced into the reception and had a ton of fun. The charcuterie spread was so gorgeous, dinner was some amazing pizza and the macrame cake was both beautiful and delicious. Mike’s dad made a cute speech and even brought out Mike’s childhood soccer trophy for it. AND Mallory, Mike, Layton & Zaylee did a really sweet family dance together to get the dance floor started. I’m so grateful I got to capture Mallory & Mike’s day!
