Alicia & Jacob had such a lovely Summer Groton Inn Wedding. These two are the sweetest! I think I’ve described them that way about 100 times but it’s true, so naturally their wedding was lovely and sweet.
They got married on a gorgeous July day at The Groton Inn, a boutique re-built historical hotel with a gorgeous view of Gibbet Hill. Alicia got ready with just her mom and sister. A relaxing low-key morning for a wedding day. They helped her into her gorgeous, classic dress, which was exactly what I pictured Alicia wearing. Jake got ready with his bestie before his parents came in to check on them and help them with their boutonnieres. Once Alicia and Jacob were both ready they went outside to the inn’s picture perfect front porch for their first look. Obviously it was super sweet, full of happy tears and hugs. (How many times can I say sweet in one blog post?) A first look was definitely the right move for them. They really needed that moment to be alone for a little while and really take in the day!
Their ceremony was held at the cutest little stone church I’ve ever seen. It was so cute that we used it as the backdrop for a giant group photo. Back at the Groton Inn, the reception was all set up for a patio cocktail hour complete with a custom painted corn hole game and a guest book filled with their engagement photos! Jacob’s best man gave a hilarious speech that I still laugh about. “First Jacob asked the smartest guy he knows to be his best man. Then Jacob asked the funniest guy he knows to be his best man. Then he asked the best looking guy he knows to be his best man. Jacob, I cant say yes a fourth time.” Ok not verbatim but something like that, hahaha.
Of course before sunset we had to sneak out for some portraits with Gibbet Hill in the background for some classic New England shots! We had a bit of an audience from diners eating at Forge & Vine, but we didn’t mind. Then I got this husband and wife back inside for cake, the bouquet toss and dancing the night away!
