When Lindsey & Ryan reached out to me for a South Shore beach engagement session I was thrilled! These two are having a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic next December. Since they got engaged at the Wequassett Resort on Cape Cod and the beach is meaningful to them they wanted their engagement photos to be taken on the Cape!

We met up at Cold Storage Beach in Dennis, MA for their session. This beach is open to the public but requires a resident sticker for parking during peak season. We scheduled the session for a few days after Labor Day so we could easily access the beautiful beach and no longer needed a resident sticker. I am glad we did because it was still warm weather without the crowds. 

We started the session up on the sand dunes and used the gorgeous walking path as our backdrop. Lindsey changed into a white floral dress for the second part of the session down by the water. She brought along a pearl embellished denim jacket as an added accessory that was so fun to use! 

Tips for Engagement Pictures

Like many couples, Lindsey and Ryan were a bit nervous when we started our session. I tell all my couples this is totally normal and to be expected. Plus, this is a great reason to do engagement photos before your wedding day. They loosened up pretty quickly and had a great time together enjoying the beach! 

If you are nervous about your engagement photos, some tips I often give my couples is to select clothes that look great, but also feel great! I want you to be yourselves and laugh and interact like you would normally. I will guide you and practice posing to help you feel at ease. Like Lindsey and Ryan, bringing along a prop or something to do together, like a picnic or champagne, is always fun! I love capturing a champagne pop and sharing a glass together. It creates a cute little moment and natural unposed movement.
