Before the ceremony, Kasey and her bridesmaids got ready at Hammetts Hotel in Newport. This boutique hotel has a bright, modern vibe, with tons of natural light – perfect for capturing those candid moments. From the quiet, peaceful moments of Kasey slipping into her wedding dress to the laughs and excitement with her bridal party, the space was ideal for creating beautiful getting ready images.

Kasey’s bridal suite had huge windows that flooded the room with light, allowing me to capture her details like her floral-embroidered dress, delicate veil, and pink bouquet. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress, which was adorned with delicate floral detailing. Paired with her Oasis Society floral heels, she looked picture-perfect.

Her bridesmaids were equally beautiful, wearing charming pink dresses with bows on the front. It was the perfect combination of feminine and fun!

A Rainy Day, but No Dampened Spirits

As with any New England wedding, you’re always at the mercy of the weather. While we were all hoping for sunshine and clear skies, Mother Nature had other plans. Not long before the ceremony was to begin, it started drizzling out. While no one wants rain on their wedding day, Kasey and Dylan took the change of plans in stride. The team at The Bohlin worked quickly to move the ceremony under the tent, which was set up in record time, with no stress or fuss.

The team at The Bohlin made sure the space was re-arranged to perfection, and the ceremony went ahead without any hiccups.

A Personal and Meaningful Reception

Despite the rain outside, the reception inside the Sperry tent was filled with warmth, joy, and tons of energy. The tent, decorated by Exquisite Events Decor, looked absolutely magical. There were cute details everywhere, like the luggage tag escort cards, which were not only functional but also added a personal touch. Each table had a name of a place that was meaningful to Kasey and Dylan, like Boston, Lowell, Hampton Beach, Aruba, and more. These little nods to their love story made the day feel even more special. One of my favorite details? The couple had custom drink stirrers made featuring their beloved pup, Teddy! And Kasey’s grandmother was her something blue, so we had to make sure we grabbed photos with her.

One of the best moments of the night was when Kasey’s junior bridesmaid, bravely got up and sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow for everyone before dinner. It was so sweet and she did an incredible job. I can’t imagine doing that when I was her age. Honestly, I probably couldn’t do it now either!

The Party Kicks Off!

Once the formalities were out of the way, the party kicked into full gear. The DJ from First Class Weddings did a fantastic job keeping the dance floor packed all night long. Despite the downpour and lightning storm happening outside, no one was thinking about the weather. Everyone was too busy enjoying the celebration and dancing to Rain on Me by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande. So fitting!

It’s always great when the dance floor is packed! Kasey and Dylan truly had the time of their lives – and I was there to document every joyful moment. It’s what makes being a Newport wedding photographer so special. You get to be part of these unforgettably gorgeous days for the best couples.
