Wow! Kayla & Will! I’m still daydreaming about their engagement session at Wingaersheek Beach in Gloucester. It was a hot day that turned into a beautifully warm Monday evening. Though I will admit there were more people still on the beach than I expected for a Monday night. But hey it was perfect out so I don’t blame them. The ocean was even pretty warm for Massachusetts! Good thing because Kayla mentioned some photos in the water. Exactly what I was hoping she’d want!!

Kayla & Will are coming up on 7 years together after meeting in college at UMass Dartmouth. She played field hockey, he played football…mutual friends…you know, classic & cute! Will is now a firefighter so Kayla stayed here in MA with him rather than moving back to her home state of New Jersey.

Earlier this year, Will proposed to Kayla on the beach! Kayla hates surprises, so Will needed a good plan. He ended up convincing Kayla that you could see whales from the shore! (Apparently there were sightings last year, they’re not crazy, hahaha. That would also 100% get me to the beach in the cold. I’m a sucker for whales.) She had no idea and of course she said yes!! Will even got Kayla’s family up from New Jersey and her sister from Virginia to celebrate afterwards too! Proposal success!!

Naturally a beach engagement session for them made perfect sense. We hung out at Wingaersheek Beach taking photos, pretending we could see whales and playing in the ocean. And swatting little gnats but shhhh, they kind of look like sparkles in some of the photos. Did I mention Will had an injured knee this entire time? He was a total trooper and was still on board with piggyback rides and picking his fiancé up in the ocean. So glad because those are some of my favorite ones!!

I can’t wait for Kayla & Will’s wedding September 2020 at Gore Place. But I guess I’m going to have to because it’s over a year away. For now I’ll just have to plan a beach day at Wingaersheek soon.
