Engagement Sessions! Have you ever thought about doing one? I highly recommend them! They’re the best for so many reasons.
The most important reason you should consider doing an engagement session is so you can get a practice run in in front of my camera before your big day! You’ll likely feel awkward at first, but that’s totally normal! I’ll tell you exactly what to do so you look great in the photos. Then on your wedding day you wont feel as awkward. You’ll be more comfortable and relaxed and you’ll already know some of my core poses!
Engagement photos are also perfect for save the dates, and wedding websites. Plus, how often do you guys take professional photos together? It’s always nice to have photos of you two looking fabulous other than just your wedding photos.
We will schedule a day, a location and I’ll send you some style inspiration. I always say the dressier the better. It might feel like too much, but trust me, it isn’t. I always recommend:
• Long flowy dresses
• Light & neutral colors with little pops of color
• Dress shirts
• Blazer or suit jacket
• Layers and textures
• Dress shoes
• Accessories
• Hair, makeup & nails done
• Engagement ring cleaned
That being said, they are YOUR engagement photos, so wear what feels best for you. You need to be comfortable and feel confident in your outfit. I also allow two outfits so you can try out a formal style and a casual style if you want!
My engagement sessions always take place outdoors (we’ll reschedule for bad weather) during “golden hour,” which is around an hour before the sun sets. This is the best lighting! 2-3 weeks after the session, you’ll receive a digital gallery of 50 images for you to download and keep forever. I’ll touch base a day or two before your engagement session to make sure we’re still on and figure out if Mother Nature is cooking up anything crazy.
