White Cliffs Country Club Wedding: Sarah & Shawn

Sarah & Shawn’s White Cliffs Country Club Wedding was an absolute dream! I love love love a beach wedding, and this venue and amazing group of people did not disappoint! I met Sarah & Shawn a while ago. Pretty typical lately since most people have had to move their weddings because of covid. We did their engagement session this past Spring but prior to that I hadn’t seem them in so long. I liked them the moment I met them, especially since they drove over an hour and a half to meet up with me in person the first time we met! Also, her name is Sarah so she’s obviously awesome!

Well their wedding day finally arrived and it was a gorgeous July day, thank god because we had a really rainy July this year. They had a super cute first look, but more importantly, Sarah planned a joke first look for Shawn with his best man in a white sundress. My first time photographing one of those and it was so funny! He had no clue.

So many sweet moments during this wedding. When Sarah reached the end of the aisle, the officiant had her hug her mom before her dad since she was “first person to hug her the day she was born.” How sweet is that?? She also had Sarah & Shawn give each of their parents roses at the beginning of the ceremony, and had their parents be the ones to bless the rings. I’ve never seen that before during a wedding ceremony but I loved it! So much more meaningful.

And in the perfect entrance for an unusually rainy July, one of the bridesmaids was introduced at the reception to “It’s Raining Men,” while being carried by two groomsmen and holding an umbrella and waving like the queen she is. Love it, so creative. Also Sarah’s sister is a great hype girl. And I definitely cried behind my camera during her speech, talking about how great of a person Sarah is and how she’ll “make her own dance floor.”

Ok and also, these beach portraits of Sarah & Shawn. Obsessed. They have a private beach at White Cliffs with a (kind of scary) little elevator that takes you all the way down. We went at the perfect time in the evening where the cliffs were creating the right amount of shade and there was only one family left on the beach. We basically had the whole beach to ourselves and it was the best! Love these two and so glad I got to capture their day.
