Hannah’s senior session was one of those shoots that felt effortlessly magical from start to finish. A Maynard High School senior with a bright future ahead of her, Hannah brought her unique personality, style, and interests into every aspect of her photos. From her infectious smile to her incredible archery shots, this session was an absolute dream.
A Perfect Autumn Day in Massachusetts
When we planned Hannah’s senior session, we knew we wanted locations that combined natural beauty with an airy, timeless feel. The Acton Arboretum and Mattison Field in Concord, MA, gave us just that. The Acton Arboretum’s lush greenery, trails, and wooden bridges provided the perfect backdrop to capture Hannah’s warmth and vibrancy. And Mattison Field, with its sweeping golden fields and rustic charm, gave us those romantic, sun-drenched vibes that make my heart skip a beat as a natural light photographer. I just love the sunsets there.
Hannah’s Personality Shines Through
Hannah is one of those people who lights up a room the moment she walks in. Her energy is equal parts kind, confident, and down-to-earth. She’s the kind of person who’s always up for an adventure, whether it’s exploring a new trail, hitting a bullseye in target archery, or binge-watching Bridgerton for the hundredth time. (I can’t get enough Bridgerton either, I’m SO excited for the next season!)
Capturing Her Passions
One of the coolest moments of the session was when Hannah brought out her archery bow. It’s not every day that I get to photograph a senior with such a unique and empowering hobby. She was absolutely giving Katniss Everdeen vibes!
Watching her pose with her bow in the golden light at Mattison Field was unforgettable. She looked so strong and confident, and it was such a testament to her personality. You could tell how much she loves target archery, she looked like such a badass holding her bow. She’s even considering collegiate archery at James Madison University after she graduates, which is so exciting!
Bridgerton Inspiration and a Dash of Glam
Hannah’s love for Bridgerton added a fun and whimsical twist to her session. She’s a huge fan of the Netflix series and even took some inspiration from the romantic, regal aesthetic for her last outfit. A gorgeous blue floral and flowy dress that fit her perfectly!
The soft, natural light highlighting her dress and the surrounding foliage created a scene that was nothing short of magical. It felt like we had stepped into Bridgerton once I asked her to twirl in it!
A Mom’s Sweet Words
After the session, I posted the sneak peeks to Instagram and Hannah and her mom’s reactions absolutely made my day. Her mom shared that Hannah was thrilled with the photos, saying she “barely recognized herself in the best way.” It’s those kinds of comments that remind me why I love being a senior photographer. Seeing my clients feel confident and beautiful in their photos is everything.
Hannah’s own reaction was just as sweet. Her message read: “Sarah, these are INCREDIBLE!!! They surpassed all of my expectations!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!” Hearing how happy she was with the photos made me smile real big.
