The Bohlin, Newport

As a New England bright & airy wedding photographer, The Bohlin is truly one of those venues that photographically checks every box. Its location right on Newport Harbor means you get amazing natural light. The waterfront patio and private dock create stunning backdrops. Think sailboats, shimmering sea, and warm golden hour light that feels dreamy and timeless. The venue accommodates up to about 250 guests. 

 Most couples book 12–18+ months in advance for peak summer dates, especially Saturdays, since Newport is such a sought-after destination. Event packages typically include 5 hours of event time under the tent or patio, which feels just right for a day that flows from ceremony to dinner and dancing.

Costs vary a lot based on season, day of the week, guest count, and menu selections. Event minimums for weddings in peak summer can range from around $46,000–$62,000 and up. 

There are no dedicated “indoor” large ballrooms; the focus is on the waterfront tent, patio, and dock areas but the tent is heated and covered, which doubles as a strong rain plan that still feels open and bright.

My personal favorite things about the Bohlin: The sailcloth tent, being in the heart of Bowen's Wharf and the epic sunsets you get there!
