The Best Wedding Venues in New England

specializing in bright and airy photography, I've had the pleasure of capturing love stories at some of the region's most stunning venues. Each offers unique charm, abundant natural light, and picturesque settings perfect for drool-worthy wedding photos. Below are some of my top venue recommendations:

As a New England Wedding Photographer

The Crane Estate

The Crane Estate is one of the most iconic wedding venues in New England, especially for bright and airy, fine-art style photography. The hilltop mansion overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, creating expansive skies and beautiful directional light throughout the day. The Grand Allée lawn is incredible for ceremonies, with soft light, symmetry, and sweeping coastal views. The white and neutral stone architecture photographs clean and timeless, never overpowering the couple. Portraits here feel editorial, romantic, and elevated without feeling stiff. Sunset light over the rolling lawns and ocean is absolutely breathtaking and perfect for golden hour images.

Couples typically book 12–18 months in advance, with summer and fall Saturdays filling quickly. Most weddings include 5 hours of reception time, with the ability to extend for an additional fee. Total wedding costs often fall in the luxury estate range, commonly $75,000–$150,000+, depending on guest count, rentals, and catering. Venue pricing usually includes site rental, access to designated areas, and event staff. Additional costs may include tenting, rentals, security, and overtime fees.

The Crane Estate can accommodate up to around 200 guests with tented receptions. The venue offers outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, with tented coverage serving as the primary weather backup. Catering must be selected from an approved caterer list, and tastings are arranged through your chosen caterer. A food and beverage minimum depends on the caterer and guest count. Getting-ready spaces are limited on-site, so many couples prepare off-site or nearby. Vendors must be approved, and guests can stay at nearby North Shore hotels and inns, making it ideal for a refined coastal wedding weekend.
