I love Kathryn & Pat’s Halibut Point Engagement Session!! This was a new spot for me and it was amazing! They chose this location because Kathryn loves the beach, but Pat not so much. This used to be a working quarry and has lots of woodsy nature but is also on the coast, so it was a nice mix for the two of them. They also don’t live too far from Rockport. Lucky for me, this location also has a visitors center with white walls. I love a white wall for photos!
Kathryn’s outfits were on point and she got her hair and makeup done for the session! But it was HOT AF, they both powered through some major heat and humidity. Once the sun started setting and we got closer to the ocean though it cooled down quite a bit and we got a nice breeze. And a stunning sunset!
These two cuties both grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts, but didn’t know each other growing up. Lots of mutual friends and both of them having roommates that were sisters brought them together 4 years ago.
On Christmas morning this past winter at Kathryn’s parent’s house in Florida, Pat asked Kathryn to marry him! Her mom knew Pat was going to propose eventually because he used her diamond. But she had no idea it was coming on Christmas morning. Only her dad knew and successfully kept the big secret. The pressure was on because Kathryn has 4 siblings and the last of them had just flown in for Christmas. He asked of course, and she said yes of course, and her mom freaked out of course.
I’m so thrilled I get to photograph their upcoming wedding at the new Olio Event Venue in Peabody next April. It’s already sounding like it’s shaping up to be absolutely beautiful and a ton of fun.
