I feel like I’ve been waiting so long for Aly & Erik’s Wedgewood Granite Rose Wedding! They reached out to me over a year ago so excited that I was available for their wedding day. It totally made my day when they told me I was their first choice for their wedding photographer. I set up a Facetime call with Aly (and their dogs) since they live in Maine and we made it official.
I finally got to meet them in person at their engagement session last November at The Portland Head Light. They’re an awesome couple that totally fit in Maine. Erik moved from Chicago to Nashville, where he met Aly. And from there after getting engaged they moved to New England. They love the outdoors, hiking, snowboarding. Basically everything Maine has to offer!
Alyssa & I got to hang out with Aly and the girls to get our day started. Detail photos, chit chat while hair and makeup got done and the cutest little flower girl. Aly had custom shirts for her bridal party including shirts for the moms and they all had fun colorful socks on. They were such a cute group!
Aly wanted to do a first look with her dad, which was so sweet. He teared up and she gifted him a custom hammer which we decided made for an unusual wedding day photo. But it’s kind of hilarious.
Once Aly was in her dress and ready to go we headed to Wedgewood Granite Rose to get some portraits done before the ceremony. We started with just Aly and added in her lovely bridemaids for some group shots. Their lavender dresses looked perfect together paired with the beautiful flowers from Susanne’s Weddings. Then we tucked Aly away into hiding and wrangled all the guys together for groomsmen photos. 3 of Erik’s groomsmen were his brothers, so we made sure to get some fun ones of just them together as well.
The ceremony was perfectly placed with gorgeous light pouring through. Aly’s dad walked her down the aisle to Erik where her mom was also waiting so they could “give her away” together. It was a really nice ceremony with some funny moments and Aly was looking up at Erik with heart eyes the whole time. She didn’t even notice when one of the groomen ran off mid-ceremony once he realized they didn’t have the rings on them, haha!
Afterwards we jumped right into formal photos and portraits of the new Mr. & Mrs. Dabbs. We used up all that golden hour light and went inside to party. Wishing you two all the happiness from here on out. Thank you for letting me capture your perfect day 🙂
