This Autumn Engagement Session is by far one of my faves! I adore this couple, Allie and Rick are super close friends of my sister-in-law. Allie’s been following me since the beginning and I’m so glad I finally get to photograph their wedding this summer! She’s been waiting quite some time for this day! Also, they’re just stunning and were a dream in front of the camera.

Allie & Rick met in college, technically at a party. Rick was a freshman and Allie a sophomore. He played hockey and got injured and tried to say hi to her but she wouldn’t give him the time of day according to Rick. She conveniently doesn’t remember this though. They ended up meeting again a year later when her and her girlfriends went to hang out with Rick and his roommates in their suite. They started chatting and have been together ever since.

Rick was all set to propose to Allie during a date night he planned. He chose a restaurant in Andover and got his sister in on it so she could photograph the moment for them. When Rick told Allie he planned a date night, she reminded him that she was dying to go to a specific restaurant in Newburyport instead. SHIT. OK. Rick had to scramble and get his sister in on a new plan. Luckily his sister knows Newburyport really well so she sent Rick a map of exactly where to go. Future sister-in-law to the rescue! A super cute proposal right on the water with the best ugly cry photos I’ve ever seen. Maybe better than Kim Kardashian’s. Oh and the best part is, everywhere in Newburyport ended up being slammed so they ended up eating and celebrating at the original restaurant Rick chose in Andover 😆
