Katelyn and Brandon’s Cape Cod backyard wedding was so beautiful and emotional! Their love story began on Tinder, although they both grew up in nearby towns on the South Shore. Many of their dates included trips to the beach on the Cape, visiting lighthouses, and all the cute things you can do along the coast.
Katelyn was ready for a change of scenery and decided to move to Seattle. It ended up working out well when Brandon had lost his job and they were able to travel together. Being in a new city knowing just each other brought them so much closer and got them through Covid. They decided to move back home in October of 2022, but before they left Brandon decided it was the right time to propose! He set up a small picnic on the beach overlooking the mountains at sunset and popped the question. On their week-long road trip home Katelyn got to work planning their wedding in the car! It all came to fruition perfectly.
Cape Cod Wedding Photographer
Katelyn and Brandon wanted an intimate wedding in her mom’s backyard on Cape Cod. They got ready in two separate nearby Airbnbs that were filled with bright natural light. I started the day by capturing all of the detail shots including her heels, vows books, stationery, and rings. I appreciated that the florist left a few stems for me to use! These were some of my favorite flat lay photos of the year!
The Airbnb where the girls got ready was just a short walk to the beach, so we took full advantage of the waterfront! Katelyn and Brandon had their first look on a walking path along the water on a pretty little bridge. It was super sweet and emotional! We took some couple portraits along the path and continued on to the beach for more photos. Their families and wedding party joined shortly after to get all of the formal portraits done on the beach.
Woodsy and Romantic Tented Wedding
Next, we headed to Katelyn’s mom’s house for the wedding! They set up a beautiful ceremony space with a circular arbor with a stunning flower arrangement. The intimate wedding was emotional for everyone, even the groomsmen were in puddles while they exchanged personal vows. It was so wonderful to see the love and joy surrounding Katelyn and Brandon.
Having just their closest family and friends present allowed the time for many sweet personal details. Katelyn wrote handwritten letters to each guest and used them as their seating chart, which was a huge hit! She also planned a gorgeous day of stationery and special favors. They spent the night under the tent enjoying cocktails from the mobile bar, dinner, and dancing!
