Meaghan Ann & Daniel

Meaghan Ann & Daniel’s Groton Inn Wedding was a photographer’s dream! A gorgeous venue, a gorgeous day (for February), a gorgeous dress, a gorgeous color scheme and of course a gorgeous bride and groom! I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it.

Alyssa and I arrived at the Groton Inn, a historic boutique hotel in Groton, MA, a little early to scope it out. I had done a few shoots here before, but never in winter, and before they opened up the back view of Gibbet Hill. Soooo stunning! Meaghan Ann and Daniel actually had their engagement session here as well a few weeks before with me. On top of the beautiful view next to their restaurant Forge & Vine, the Inn itself is a perfect white backdrop for my bright & airy photography style.

After poking around we headed into the girl’s getting ready room. The interior had so much natural light!! It couldn’t have been more perfect! The girls spent a good chunk of time trying to teach Meaghan Ann how to pop open a bottle of champagne. There are some great blooper shots of Meaghan Ann anticipating it exploding everywhere. Spoiler, it didn’t explode. Once she finally got it open, Meaghan Ann came out in her gorgeous princess style gown. It was huge but so so pretty! She looked like a Disney princess. We kept making jokes about birds, squirrels and mice coming out to help her move around in it. But they never came, lol.

Over on the other side of the inn, Daniel & Co. were looking fantastic. They might have future careers in modeling?

The ceremony took place inside the beautiful banquet room. Meaghan Ann’s father walked her down the aisle towards Daniel. They stood under a red floral altar that they made themselves and said their heartfelt emotional vows through some sweet tears. Daniel kissed his bride and they were married!

Wedding guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we took wedding party photos and portraits, my favorite! This group was so much fun and they looked like a million bucks. Blush and black & white with the Groton Inn as the backdrop. Perfection. Of course I had to get portraits of Meaghan Ann & Daniel with Gibbet Hill in the background as well. The sun was setting on the hill and it was a cozy warm orange. You wouldn’t even know it was actually freezing outside!

DJs Ryan & Frank introduced the wedding party to the reception like an NBA game. It was pretty epic. Followed by Meaghan Ann & Daniel’s first dance as husband and wife. Maid of Honor, Sarah & Best Man, Josh gave some really sweet toasts, as well as Meaghan Ann’s father before an incredibly delicious dinner. Parent dances, cake cutting, and a giant group photo led guests to the dance floor to end the night dancing their faces off. Thank you Meaghan Ann & Daniel for letting me be a part of your special day!!
