Oh March in New England. You never know what you’re going to get. I’ve been excited about Kristen & Kevin’s wedding for almost a year now. Their engagement story is adorable, and they’re the nicest couple. When I first met them, they told me they were getting married at The Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, MA. I was so excited to hear that, it’s an absolutely gorgeous beach venue. However, their wedding date was March 7th. A few years ago we got roughly a foot of snow here on March 7th. Kevin especially was determined to have their ceremony outside, it’s a beach venue!! They have heat lamps…they really do, I saw them.
We did luck out with a mild winter this year, so we didn’t get snow. There had been a chance of it earlier in the week though! And of course the temperatures were in the 60s a few days later. It was super windy however. So they ultimately decided to have their ceremony inside, but wow. It is gorgeous inside with huge windows lighting the place up! Dreammmyyyy.
It was in the 40s and windy but everyone was a good sport for photos outside. And they were well worth it if you ask me. This looks like a summer wedding! We got a gorgeous, sunny day that ended in a beautiful sunset. Seriously dreamy.
One of my favorite parts of the day was their dog Maggie! She got to hitch a ride with Danielle at For The Love of Paws to swing by for some family photos. Maggie got to be a part of their engagement session when she was just a tiny pup! She’s still a small breed of course but she’s so much bigger than the last time I saw her. Still just as cute though. I just want shout out Danielle at For The Love of Paws. Such a brilliant vendor to hire to coordinate having your dogs be a part of your wedding.
Other highlights included Kristen’s mom tearing up just at Kristen’s makeup alone. She didn’t even have her dress on yet, haha! So many college friends that are still so close! Kristen & Kevin’s first dance to “Shallow” by my girlfriend, Lady Gaga. Kevin’s twin brother’s toast. I love a twin toast, they’ve known each other the longest since being “womb-mates.” DJ Dan Sky singing during dinner! And of course, loads of perfect sunset beach portraits. What a perfect day. Hope you guys are loving New Zealand, but I’m sure Maggie misses you!

Sarah you are sooo good! So many creative shots! Love how you hung her dress on the bed and the photo over her shoulder of her bridesmaids taking cell phone pics of her. Amazing job!!
Thank you Erin!! I can’t lie about the dress though. They had it hanging there before I even got there, which was perfect because it looked beautiful and I didn’t have to spend any time looking for a spot to hang it. But apparently 7 months prior, their friend got married and they had the same bridal suite and put a sticky hook there above the bed, and it was still there!
[…] I loved this session though! We met up in Scituate, where Jill grew up. And actually a town I’ve been wanting to check out for a while now. It’s super cute and I need another visit already! Jill wore a gorgeous blue floral dress and walked along the beach with her handsome hubby. They even brought a tiny Red Sox hat and a pair of itty bitty Sperrys for props! I love little baby things 🙂 After we soaked up all that epic beach light, we went over to the Scituate Light House. Another spot I’ve wanted to check out because that’s where Kevin proposed to Kristen! […]
[…] After wandering around the Public Garden we headed for Commonwealth Avenue for the second half of the shoot. We got a random snowfall a few days before so I was worried it would have killed all the magnolias that beautifully decorate Boston Streets in the spring. But they lived! I’ve been dying to shoot in Boston while they’re in bloom and this session was perfect for it! Can’t wait to see these two again in 2022 at The Beauport! […]
[…] Jessica and her mom got ready together at The Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, one of my faves! She had some of the best details! Lots of lovely blues, lacy shoes, […]
