Alicia and Jacob might be the sweetest people I’ve ever photographed. They met in college 6 years ago through mutual friends. Their first date was during a snowstorm in Boston. They walked really far in the snow and were soaked when they got there. They ended up spending 5 hours at the bar! Mostly because they were having a good time, but they also didn’t want to walk back out in the snow. Luckily it stopped by the time they left.
December 2019, Jacob’s family was taking Christmas card photos in Maine when he proposed to Alicia. His dad likes photography so he set them up in a gazebo so he could photograph the proposal. He was trying to pose them but Jacob didn’t want Alicia to see the ring box in his back pocket so he was frazzled with the posing he was giving them. She really didn’t notice. They also had to convince Alicia to not have their dog in some of the photos so she wouldn’t go nuts when he got down on one knee.
These two are getting married at the cutest little stone church in Groton with the reception at The Groton Inn. They recently bought a house in Westford (her hometown) but lived in Groton for a while so a Groton wedding is perfect for them. That’s also why they chose to have their engagement session in Groton. I was cracking up while posing them. I got them in a cute one and Alicia goes “what do I do with my face?” Never had anyone ask that before, hahaha. And Jacob was very attentive making sure her gorgeous engagement ring was facing the right way at all times. So cute. Also a bunch of kids drove by during the shoot screaming “so beautiful.” Then we realized it was 4/20 and they were probably a bunch of stoned teenagers driving around. Such a great session with an awesome couple. Looking forward to July!
