Jessica and William‘s Hammond Castle Wedding was a rainy one, but a gorgeous one! Jessica’s vision for their wedding day was “english garden” so rather than getting married inside the dry castle, they got married outside anyways with gorgeous flowers, an ocean view and some seriously accommodating guests.
Just Jessica and her mom got ready together at The Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, one of my faves! She had some of the best details! Lots of lovely blues, lacy shoes, floral invites and really sweet special pieces like a note from her grandfather to her grandmother on their own wedding day in 1941 and her grandmother’s locket.
We headed to the castle to meet William for their first look. He was waiting at the big arches for Jessica. The rain had held up until that very moment, so she came down with a cute umbrella. Luckily it was a light misty rain so we did some umbrella portraits but were able to do some more under tree coverage and we were fine! They ultimately decided to still have their ceremony outside in the rain. Guests just sat with their umbrellas and it was beautiful!

They were able to livestream the wedding ceremony so William’s family could watch in England. His family was supposed to be here for the wedding but there were still travel restrictions in place unfortunately. They got really emotional talking to them all through zoom after the recessional.
After formal photos were done, we headed over to Rockport! The rain stopped for a bit and we were able to get some more portraits at one of my fave spots! And my fave photo spot happens to be right behind the restaurant they had the reception at. I’ve walked by Feather & Wedge quite a few times and have always wanted to eat there. So glad I finally got to, one of the yummiest dinners! Jessica & William were introduced and had their first dance to Truly, Madly, Deeply by Savage Garden, I hadn’t heard that one in a while!
During toasts, we found out that Jessica’s sister moved out to Boston from Ohio. She convinced Jessica to do the same a few years later. Jessica always said she wouldn’t settle for anyone but an all American guy but their friends Martin & Anna set these two up and here she is marring a British guy. Apparently Jessica’s dad, brother and nephew are all also named William! It was truly meant to be and they are best friends. After dinner and before I headed out for the night I got to hear Jessica sing! She got up on the little stage with the guitar player and performed for everyone. It was awesome!
Also I have to mention the real MVP of this wedding. STEVE! William’s friend and best man. Literally, the best man, he was so helpful. He followed us around for the first look, watched bags, held gifts and cards and just carried all the things. We love Steve!
