Lauren and Matt’s October wedding at The Hampshire House in Boston was the perfect combination of elegance, romance, and personal touches. With its timeless charm and cozy, library-inspired interiors, The Hampshire House set the stage for a day filled with love and celebration. From getting ready at The W Hotel to their heartfelt vows, every moment of this wedding felt like a page out of a (Swiftie) love story. As a Boston wedding photographer, capturing the details of this gorgeous day was an absolute dream.

Getting Ready at The W Hotel

Lauren and Matt started their wedding day at The W Hotel in Boston. The hotel’s bright & airy rooms were the perfect backdrop for the getting-ready moments. Lauren, surrounded by her bridesmaids, slipped into the classiest wedding dress with delicate sleeves and lace heels. Her natural makeup look highlighted her timeless beauty, and her bouquet—wrapped in fabric from her mother’s wedding dress—was a sentimental touch.

Meanwhile, Matt looked incredibly dapper in his tuxedo. With his polished look and confident smile, he channeled major Great Gatsby vibes, ready to see his bride.

Boston Wedding Photographer: Portraits in the Boston Public Garden

Lauren and Matt’s wedding party photos, family formals and husband & wife portraits took place in the iconic Boston Public Garden. On this gorgeous fall day, the Garden was mobbed! Photographing amidst the crowds required a bit of creativity (and some Photoshop magic later), but the result was well worth the extra editing.

The Ceremony: Vows That Brought Tears

The Hampshire House is a Boston gem, perched above the famous Cheers bar. As Lauren and Matt arrived, tourists congratulated them from the entryway.

Inside, The Hampshire House’s elegant library-inspired setting created a warm and intimate atmosphere for their ceremony. Surrounded by rich wood paneling and shelves of books, Lauren and Matt exchanged vows they had written themselves.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room—mine included! These moments are why I love being a wedding photographer.

Elegant Reception Details at The Hampshire House

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails in The Hampshire House’s charming space, complete with a custom bar sign that read, “Drinks are on Fred & Coal.” These adorable cats are Lauren and Matt’s fur babies, obviously they needed to be part of the big day. Why can’t cats attend weddings??

The reception was a celebration of love and joy. The tables were decorated with lush florals from Winston Flowers in shades of burgundy, rust, and dark green. The color palette was warm and romantic, perfectly complementing the venue’s classic interior.

Lauren looked radiant as she and Matt danced their first dance to Lover by Taylor Swift—a perfect choice for a Swiftie like Lauren. I’ve been waiting for a couple to use that as their wedding song for years. It’s one of my favorites!

Later, Lauren changed into a sparkly reception dress that added a touch of glam to the evening, and it was right up my alley!

A Love Story Years in the Making

Lauren and Matt’s love story began in high school. Despite being in the same friend group, it wasn’t until after college that they went on their first date—while on a trip to Ireland with their friends.

Their relationship had some long-distance challenges when Matt moved to Florida to work at Disney. Fun fact: Matt is an ex-gymnast who performed as a monkey in The Lion King show! Eventually, Lauren joined him in Florida, and the two spent a few years there before returning to New England and buying a house together.

Matt’s proposal was just as thoughtful as their relationship. After months of waiting for the perfect moment, he proposed on Christmas morning, just the two of them at home. Lauren was completely surprised—and, of course, said yes!
