I loved Jessica & Chris’s Summer Blush Wedding. And I didn’t even have to wait that long for this perfect day. Jessica and Chris booked me only a few months ago and we did their engagement session at the beginning of July so I had pretty much just seen them and their daughter Harper.
Laura, Jose & I started out capturing details at Jessica’s parent’s house. All the girls were off getting their hair and makeup done at a salon while the guys hung by the pool eating lunch. Jessica left everything out for us to photograph while they were gone and the florist showed up with the gorgeous flowers soon after we got there. We even found a perfect spot for dress photos. The white pool fence!
The girls started filing in slowly all glammed up. Jessica’s parent’s have an in-law apartment at their house right off of the pool, so it was perfect for the guys to get dressed in. We photographed the guys getting ready while all the bridesmaids started getting dressed in the main house. Once they were all in their flowy blush Lulu’s dresses, we were ready to photograph Jessica getting into her stunning dress! Her mom and sisters helped her get it on and Jessica and her mom, Cathy, had a sweet teary moment.
The guys headed out the door first all dressed for the first look and wedding party formals. Once they were gone and out of sight, all the ladies headed over to War Memorial Park. Laura scoped it out a bit for me and we found a nice little spot to place Chris. Jessica walked out of the car to meet her soon-to-be hubby for their cute first look. There were a few tears and some kisses of course but the cutest part was when their adorable daughter, Harper, saw them together all dressed up for the first time. She let out the tiniest “Hiiiii Mommy and Daddy!” She’s too adorable. And Jessica teared up again. I think it’s extra special when your kids get to be a part of your wedding day.
We did all the usual wedding party photos at the park before heading over to the Tent at Ridder Country Club in Bridgewater, MA. Jessica used to be a wedding planner so she wanted to make sure everything was looking good before guests showed up. Especially since she planned this wedding in Massachusetts while living in Virginia. It was coming together perfectly. The venue is a big bright white tent, which I love! Her color scheme was gorgeous shades of pink with perfect gold details.
The Tent at Ridder Country Club has a lovely white pergola outside for ceremonies to take place under with a nice light colored aisle. They got married during golden hour so the lighting was perfect!! Jessica’s father walked her and Harper down the aisle together to Chris. It was a nice ceremony with the intention of Chris reading vows to Harper as well, but Harper was quite content playing in the grass and delivering snacks to her parents up at the altar. It was actually so funny, she had no interest in hanging out up there and almost didn’t even notice all the people in the crowd watching.
Family photos in the garden, glowy portraits, first dances and a delicious dinner. Cake cutting with Harper getting the first bite and DJ Steve rotating through crazy hats made for a fun reception. Last year I got to photograph Sarah & Andy’s wedding, so it was awesome to see them again and their dancing friend Lindsey.
Congratulations to Jessica & Chris! I love photographing your wedding day and hanging out with your friends and family.
