I recently got to meet up with another photographer, Piper, in my town to chat over coffee on our town common. We’ve both lived in the same town for many years now yet somehow didn’t know about the other. She found me while Googling around to send a couple to me on a day she was already booked and found me and reached out! We chatted non-stop for almost 2 hours before the town Farmer’s Market started setting up and we felt in the way. But before parting ways, Piper invited me to a Backyard Wedding Inspiration Shoot that her friend Keir was putting on. So sweet for her to invite me, and wow, am I glad I said yes!
I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I arrived, but I knew the shoot was at Keir’s lake house. Little did I know, she used to work at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and so did almost everyone she brought on to help this vision come to life. Can we just talk about these florals that Jimmy did? I can’t even. They’re unreal! The whole idea behind this shoot is to highlight backyard weddings and elopements. So many couples are doing them now because of Covid, so why not make them as amazing as possible!
And these couples! They’re both real life couples who have never modeled in a styled shoot before. Can you believe? They were so good in front of the camera. The first couple, Ashley & Bethany had an actual small elopement earlier this year, but Manny & Maggie aren’t married in real life…not yet at least.
Rey and his team made some beautiful and really delicious food for the shoot as well. The best part about food as a styled shoot is we got to eat it at the end. Rey also made me a bomb margarita when we wrapped. The perfect way to end an awesome styled shoot if you ask me!
