It’s been so exciting getting to finally meet my couples in person instead of over Zoom now that it’s engagement session season. Ok engagement session season isn’t really a thing but I have a bunch right now so I’m calling it that.
I met up with Katie & Adam in the Boston Public Garden on a gorgeous spring day when everything was just starting to bloom. And the squirrels man, so many! And they were distracting all the dogs on walks. So amusing to watch. If you’ve ever encountered a Boston Public Garden squirrel then you know that they have no fear. You can literally hand feed them, I see people do it all the time. Before we started the session we watched a lady on the phone trying to drag her dog but she would not move. She was completely entranced by the squirrels. I also saw a Boston terrier take off from his owner to try and chase one up a tree.
ANYWAYS! Katie and Adam! They met in 2018 and almost didn’t go on their first date. All thanks to Katie’s co-worker who pushed her to go after going on many unsuccessful dates. They met up at Wink and Nod in Boston at 7 and Adam already had his “out” planned for 9 incase it went badly. A friend’s birthday party. The date was supposed to just be a drink but they ordered apps and ended up staying out all night. Katie had to quickly head home to let her dog Homer out and then went to the birthday party with Adam and met all of his friends on night one of their relationship!
After wandering around the Public Garden we headed for Commonwealth Avenue for the second half of the shoot. We got a random snowfall a few days before so I was worried it would have killed all the magnolias that beautifully decorate Boston Streets in the spring. But they lived! I’ve been dying to shoot in Boston while they’re in bloom and this session was perfect for it! Can’t wait to see these two again in 2022 at The Beauport!
