Breezy & Hanbo’s Coastal Chic Wedding at The Beauport Hotel
On May 25, 2025, Breezy and Hanbo tied the knot at the stunning Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, MA. This wedding was everything you could hope for in a seaside celebration: joyful, romantic, and full of thoughtful, personal touches that made their day uniquely theirs. As a New England wedding photographer specializing in bright and airy photography, I couldn’t have asked for a better setting or a sweeter couple.
A Love Story Worth Telling
Before we dive into their incredible wedding day, let’s talk about Breezy and Hanbo’s love story. Breezy almost didn’t go on their first date—her roommate had to convince her to get ready just 45 minutes beforehand! But after meeting Hanbo, she was so glad she went. Their first date was filled with Pad Thai, strolls through the Boston Public Garden, and hot chocolate, making it one of those magical evenings you never want to end. Five years, med school, and law school later, they’ve built a life full of love and laughter together.
Hanbo’s proposal was as thoughtful as it gets. He surprised Breezy in a lighthouse restaurant in Newburyport after she’d spent a fun day having High Tea with her friends. Her hair ties came off, her jacket was tossed aside, and Hanbo got down on one knee to ask her to be his forever. Their families celebrated with them afterward, making it a truly unforgettable day.
Getting Ready: All the Giggles and Sweet Moments
The morning of the wedding was filled with excitement. Breezy and her bridesmaids got ready in matching navy blue pajama sets, while Breezy wore white—a classic choice. Her mom helped her into her stunning gown, and it was such an emotional moment. You could feel the love and pride in the room.
Another standout detail? They made their own wedding scents at House of Art & Craft in Boston. Breezy’s perfume, aptly named “Toes in the Sand,” was fresh and beachy. Hanbo’s cologne, hilariously named “Aromatic Potato,” was as quirky and unique as he is. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw the little potato figure he’d drawn on the label.
The Sweetest First Look on the Balcony
Breezy and Hanbo chose to do a first look on the balcony of the Beauport Hotel, and it was absolutely magical. As soon as Hanbo saw Breezy, his face lit up with the biggest smile. Breezy twirled for him, showing off her dress, and they shared a private, giggly moment before the whirlwind of the ceremony and reception began.
This first look also gave us the chance to capture all their portraits before the ceremony, a decision I always recommend. It meant they could enjoy their cocktail hour with friends and family without feeling rushed. Plus, it gave them extra time to take in the day together.
They had a cute first look on the balcony. Hanbo twirled her all around and admired her dress with a big smile on his face. Hanbo is a pretty stoic guy so anytime I got a big genuine smile from him on camera I was thrilled. It was their wedding day, he was more smiley than usual. Having never done this before, Breezy looked back at me and asked me “wait, can we kiss??” YES! OF COURSE! Too cute and funny.
Why Do a First Look?
There are so many benefits to having a first look:
- 40% More Portraits: You’re investing in wedding photography, and a first look ensures you get even more beautiful images to decorate your home with.
- Enjoy the Surprise Freely: Instead of waiting until the end of the ceremony to embrace, you can share a private, intimate moment together right away.
- Extend Your Day: A first look gives you more time to enjoy your day and reduces the rush.
- Diminish Nerves: Many couples feel much more relaxed after seeing each other before the ceremony.
For Breezy and Hanbo, their first look didn’t take away from the magic of the aisle moment at all. In fact, it added to the joy and anticipation of the day.
A Ceremony Full of Emotion
The outdoor ceremony took place on the Beauport’s deck overlooking the ocean. Breezy’s mom walked her down the aisle, and Breezy was so overwhelmed with emotion that she had to pause for a moment. Their guests started cheering and clapping for her, creating one of the sweetest moments I’ve witnessed this wedding season.
Pickleball, Personalized Scents, and Creative Details
Breezy and Hanbo’s wedding was filled with unique touches that showcased their personalities. They’re both huge pickleball fans, so their wedding featured custom pickleball paddles printed with their engagement photos, a pickleball-themed cake, and a seating chart that tied into the theme. It was such a fun and unexpected way to celebrate their shared hobby.
Golden Hour Beach Portraits
As the sun began to set, we headed down to the beach for golden hour portraits. These moments were some of my favorites from the entire day. Breezy and Hanbo were finally able to be alone (well, besides me), and they took the time to soak in the beauty of their wedding day. They whispered funny things to each other, making them giggle, and it was so sweet to capture their natural chemistry and love.
Dancing the Night Away
The reception at the Beauport Hotel’s ballroom was a vision of elegance and coastal charm. Flowers By Darlene created stunning arrangements that complemented the seaside setting perfectly. Breezy and Hanbo’s first dance to “You Are The Reason” by Calum Scott was romantic and heartfelt, setting the tone for an evening full of celebration.
Their guests kept the dance floor packed all night long, thanks to the incredible energy brought by DJ Joe Carson Music. From emotional parent dances to a lively bouquet toss, every moment was filled with laughter and love.
The Perfect Ending to a Perfect Day
Breezy and Hanbo’s wedding was everything you’d hope for in a coastal celebration. It was filled with personal touches, beautiful details, and an undeniable sense of joy. From their emotional first look to their golden hour beach portraits, every moment was a testament to their love story.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Beauport Hotel or anywhere along the New England coast, I’d love to capture your special day. Let’s create timeless, joyful images that you’ll treasure forever.
